Welcome to WBG Music School

2023 School

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CEO, MR PETER BATTERSBY

After lengthy discussions with Tim, Tony & Jane we are pleased to announce that the 2023 Wimmera Bands Group Music School will be held in the home of the CEO at St Arnaud. The ongoing Covid -19 situation restricts venue hire and makes running conditions difficult. We have had to make a few changes to our usual structure.

Please note: With the ongoing COVID 19 restrictions there will be no catering on student morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea this year. There will be tea, coffee, Milo, cordial, water, and some snacks provided during break times. This may change as we get closer to the 51st music school. Watch this space for updates.

All people over the age of 18 are strongly advised to be fully vaccinated before the music school. This includes all staff, students, parents/carers, and helpers. For those under 18 years of age, we strongly recommend that you are fully vaccinated as well.

We are looking forward to celebrating the 51st Wimmera Bands Group Music School in June/July 2023.

Some kind words about our school

“Through my years from attending WBG Music Schools, I have been fortunate to meet and work with some of Australia’s finest music educators, players and friends. This has enabled me to gain further experience in professional playing and teaching. The scope of experience is almost endless. Opportunities like playing in horn sections in rock bands, touring, teaching, composing, playing or recording in professional bands has been made possible with a rounded musical education. These skills were started at WBG Music Schools, and are invaluable to me in my life as a musician.”
